Alignments

The importance of alignments

Many tire retailers don't even offer alignments, this service is critical to the extended wear of your tires and fuel savings.  To get  the most out of your tires, the two most important things you can do are keep them properly inflated and get your alignment checked.  To put it in perspective tires that are under-inflated by 20% can reduce your fuel economy by as much as 10% and reduce tread life by up to 15%. If your vehicle isn't properly aligned, your fuel economy could be reduced by up top 5%. It all adds up... up to 10% less mileage out of each gallon of gas you put in your car and tires that wear out long before they should.

As a rule, every vehicle should have an alignment done every 6 months, or every 6,000 miles. Your vehicle's suspension is made of a number of components and systems that all need to be in perfect alignment and working together. Bad roads and normal wear from driving can throw everything out of balance over time and cause excessive tire wear and other problems. One way to make sure your suspension stays in good working order is to make sure your tires are aligned correctly.
