Ferndale, Mich. (and various other locations), August 16
What began as a fundraiser for a soccer field in Ferndale, Mich. is now the world’s largest one-day automotive event. The Woodward Dream Cruise draws 1.5 million people from around the world and 40,000 classic cars each year. It’s the perfect summer event for the entire family from fun activities to the great view of some of the most beautiful cars from over the decades.
Dearborn, Mich., August 17
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang and the Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern Michigan – a group of Mustang enthusiasts who have been gathering since 1975 – are going all out to celebrate with a “Mustang Memories 50th Anniversary Celebration” at the automaker’s Product Development Center. The event will include raffles, activities for kids, concessions and over 1,000 vehicles to celebrate the milestone.
St. Claire Shores, Mich., August 27
Kiwanis Harper Charity Cruise is a great way to give back and enjoy an evening out with the entire family. The event showcases some of the coolest vintage rides as they cruise in St. Claire Shores this summer. Proceeds go to a variety of charities including Wigs 4 Kids, C.A.R.E and Tree of Hope.
Flint, Mich., August 12-16
Back to the Bricks is the largest car show in the area with live entertainment, automotive displays, dragster exhibits, food and drinks, antique fire trucks and all-day parties to celebrate some of the coolest rides around. The pre-show festivities began on August 4 with the “Tune Up Party” and continue throughout the week until the big event.
Cadillac, Mich., August 22
The Green Acres Classic Car Show celebrates the beauty of classic cars. The family-friendly event includes music from The Bristol Flats Band and there are even complimentary hotdogs courtesy of Hospice of Michigan. You can expect a great time for the entire family at this awesome event.
Midland, Mich., September 12 and 13
Park your car and watch the beautiful hot rods, custom vehicles, trucks and motorcycles cruise down the street or put on your dancing shows and enjoy music supplied by “The Doo Wop DJs” as they deliver some of the best oldies music ever recorded at the Midland Cruise ‘N Car Show.
Grand Rapids, Mich., August 22 & 23
This year marks a milestone for the Metro Cruise in Grand Rapids, Mich. The two-day event will celebrate ten years of cruising with fun and activities for the entire family. The celebration doesn’t end with the cruise; there is also an art cruise through the entire month where art work will be featured at local businesses and available for purchase.
Toledo, OH, August 10
The 19th Annual AAA Car and Truck Show will take place at the Main Branch on Central Avenue. Attendees can enjoy classic cars, food from Nick’s World Famous Hotdogs, music by Cruisin Zeake, prizes and more. Be sure to check out the Miniature Car Show where automotive enthusiasts ages 5-12 can enter their Hot Wheels, Matchbox or Model Cards.
Toledo, OH, August 17
The 6th Annual Rally at Regency Plaza Car Show will take place at the corner of Central and McCord. Stop by to check out the cars and enjoy free coffee, donuts, children’s activities and food specials at Buffalo Wild Wings. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
